Promo package for the FX original docuseries Children Underground, the complicated story of the vigilante work of Faye Yager.
I led the art direction and motion design direction for the project. The design was inspired by accounts of children who had fled through the underground system, a flurry of 90s film imagery interspersed with the meticulous documentation of Faye.
Since we had no access to footage or archival from the documentary, we had to get creative. Personal family photos of the team mixed with stock footage, paper textures, and scanned handwriting worked together to create a dark 90s aesthetic. The final product fit the tone of the show perfectly without ever having seen a cut.
